Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with festive cupcake liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter with 2 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in 3 large eggs, one at a time, followed by mixing in 1 cup of buttermilk, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, and the desired amount of red food coloring.
