- In a medium saucepan, bring ½ cup of water to a simmer over medium heat. Place a large heatproof bowl over the pot to create a double boiler.
- Add 6 cups of regular marshmallows and ¼ cup of unsalted butter to the bowl. Stir continuously for about 2-4 minutes until smooth and fully melted.
- Carefully remove the bowl from the heat and mix in ½ teaspoon of salt and red food coloring until fully combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, pour the 4 cups of Rice Bubbles. Drizzle the warm marshmallow mixture over the cereal and fold together gently.
- Lightly grease your hands and shape the mixture into oval brain forms with indentations.
- Place the shaped brains on a parchment-lined tray to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
