Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
