Ingredients
Scale
2 (14.5-ounce) cans green beans, drained
1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup French fried onions, divided
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and half of the French fried onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. If using, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and stir the casserole. Top with the remaining French fried onions.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a creamier texture, add an additional ½ cup of sour cream to the mixture.
To make it a complete meal, add cooked chicken or turkey to the casserole before baking.
