Delicious fried sandwiches filled with a creamy strawberry cheesecake mixture, perfect for dessert or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Toss to coat and let sit for about 10 minutes to release juices.
  2. In another bowl, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on four slices of bread. Top with the sugared strawberries, then place the remaining bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine crushed graham crackers, flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  5. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until hot (about 350°F).
  6. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the graham cracker mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  7. Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the sandwiches before serving.
  • Substitute the strawberries with other fruits like bananas or blueberries for different flavors.
