- 1 pound beef tenderloin, trimmed
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
- Slice the beef tenderloin into 1-inch thick pieces. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil and sesame oil.
- Sear the beef for about 1-2 minutes on each side until browned but rare in the center.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lemon juice, orange juice, grated ginger, and honey to create the citrus soy sauce.
- Once the beef has cooled, slice it thinly against the grain.
- Arrange the slices on a serving platter and drizzle with the citrus soy sauce.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes for a refreshing cold dish.
Notes
